The JSW Combat SUV has been spied, and even with full camouflage you can see how big and boxy it is. JSW Motors will launch its first vehicle on 4 December 2026, and the latest spy shots show both the exterior and the interior. It is a large plug-in hybrid SUV based on the Chery Jetour T2. Today, we will tell you the complete details about the JSW Combat SUV launch.
JSW Combat SUV Spy Shots
The spy shots, credited to Twitter user SuryawanshiPrit, show the SUV in full camouflage, but the shape is clear. It has squarish headlights, a flat bonnet, a flat front fascia and a boxy silhouette, along with roof rails, a tailgate-mounted wheel, a side step, large ORVMs and chunky bumpers. The door handles are conventional and the wheels are 20-inch alloys. Coming to the cabin, the layout looks similar to the Jetour T2, but the steering wheel logo is camouflaged on this test mule.

JSW Combat SUV Dimensions and Features
Coming to the size, the SUV is expected to measure close to the Jetour T2, at 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width and 1,880 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is expected to be 220 mm. It has seating for five adults and a boot capacity of 752 litres. Features are also expected to be similar to the T2, including a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, powered seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat, ventilated seats, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a 540-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS. JSW has not confirmed any of this yet.
JSW Combat SUV Engine and Range
The Combat is expected to use the same hybrid powertrain as the Jetour T2. It is a proper PHEV setup and not a self-charging system with a small battery. A 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine works with an 18.4 kWh battery pack and two electric motors driving the front wheels. Total system output is up to 360 bhp and 610 Nm, with a 3-speed gearbox.
The claimed pure electric range is around 90 km, and the total system range can go up to 1,100 km. AWD with a PHEV powertrain is available in some markets, but it is not confirmed for India. If your daily drive is short and you can charge at home, 90 km of claimed electric range can cover most weekday running, and the petrol engine handles highway trips. Still, wait for real-world range tests before deciding.
JSW Combat SUV Price
The JSW Combat SUV price has not been announced yet. The SUV is expected to come via the CBU route, so it should sit at the premium end of the market. Based on its size and positioning, we expect it to be priced around ₹35–50 lakh ex-showroom. This is only an expected price, and the official price will be announced at launch on 4 December.
JSW Combat SUV Competitors in market
At this price, the SUV will be compared with large premium SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster. We will compare them properly once JSW announces the variants and prices.
JSW Motors and the Combat
JSW Motors is not starting from zero. It already has the JSW MG Motor India partnership and a MoU with Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. It is also set to emerge as a standalone automaker, with a production facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The Combat is its first vehicle, and launching a likely CBU-route PHEV as a debut is a bold move.
The bottom line
The Combat looks like a statement more than a sales driver. A big SUV with 360 bhp and a real plug-in battery will get attention, but the price will decide everything. If it lands near the lower end of our expected range, buyers of large premium SUVs will take notice, and if it goes well above, it will stay a curiosity. Service network, warranty and charging support are also open questions for a brand this new. We will reserve judgement until 4 December. For more updates, you can also visit the JSW official website.
