Triumph has unveiled the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200, and decided launch date for India in March 2027. Two variants will come here, the GT Pro and the Rally Explorer. Power is up by 8hp to 158hp, but the headline items are a front and rear radar suite and a suspension that drops the seat by 30mm every time you stop. Today, we will tell you the complete details about the Triumph Tiger 1200 launch.

Triumph Tiger 1200 Engine, Power and Torque

Coming to the engine, the Triumph Tiger 1200’s 1,160cc triple now makes 158hp at 9,250rpm and 130Nm at 6,750rpm. Peak torque now arrives lower in the rev range than before. Triumph has redesigned the cylinder head, pistons and exhaust, and fitted lighter intake and exhaust valves with more precise fuel injection. The first three gear ratios are also revised, and one report says this lowers crawl speed by 6kmph. The six-speed gearbox and shaft drive have been refined for better shift quality and low-speed manners. If you ride in city traffic before a highway run, this low-speed work matters more than the extra 8hp.

Triumph Tiger 1200 Suspension and Seat Height

The suspension is from Showa, with a 49mm USD fork and a monoshock with automatic self-levelling preload, both with 200mm of travel. A six-axis IMU and other sensors keep adjusting compression and rebound damping. The automatic ride-height function lowers the seat by 30mm when the bike stops and restores it once you move.

A two-position seat adds 20mm of adjustment, and the optional low seat takes off another 20mm, so the standstill seat height can be as low as 790mm. Centre Stand Assist also raises rear preload briefly to make lifting the bike onto its stand easier. Braking comes from twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 282mm rear disc, and every variant rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel.

Triumph Tiger 1200 Features

Coming to the features, a Bosch radar system at the front and rear enables adaptive cruise control, group ride assist, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist and blind spot assist. The bike also gets rear distance warning, overtake assist that responds to the indicator, and curve speed control for longer corners. The cockpit has a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On top of the tank is a waterproof phone compartment with 15W USB-C charging and a cooling fan. The adaptive LED headlamp lights extra elements at 15 and 30 degrees of lean, and heated rider and pillion seats and three-stage heated grips are standard across the range.

Triumph Tiger 1200 Price in India

Triumph India has not announced the Tiger 1200 price yet. The outgoing Tiger 1200 (MY24 models) is listed on the Triumph India website from ₹19.39 lakh ex-showroom, and the new generation is expected to carry a premium over that. So the new bike is expected to be priced around ₹21–25 lakh ex-showroom, but this is only an expectation. The official price will be announced at launch in March 2027.

Tiger 1200 Competitors in market

Buyers are likely to compare the Tiger 1200 with the BMW R 1300 GS and the Ducati Multistrada V4. Proper comparisons will only make sense once Triumph India announces the Indian prices.

The bottom line

The 2027 Tiger 1200 is a bigger update than its lightly changed styling suggests. The radar-based rider aids and the self-lowering seat are the biggest changes. If Triumph India pushes the new bike far above the old entry point, the value argument gets tougher. If you plan to book, wait for the March price before deciding.
